VIRTUAL TOUR 100 KM OF THE PASSATORE

A Journey through the Route and History of the World's Most Beautiful 100 km

It took us three years, as photoravenna.comto become the official photographers of the 100 km of the Passatore, one of the oldest and certainly the most prestigious 100 km in the world. Photographing a race such as this is a pleasure but also a great responsibility. The photographic project presented, which we can fearlessly describe as great, was not enough on its own to try to create a strong partnership between the organisation and us, the chosen photographers.

We therefore thought of proposing the Virtual Tour 100 km del Passatore. This time, however, the 360 hd Virtual Tour should not simply be figurative but convey much more. Discussing this with Tatiana, the idea of the 'journey along the route and history of the 100 km of the Passatore' was born, which we can call a World Premiere as, to our knowledge, no race in the world has a similar product for its promotion.

A 360 hd Virtual Tour has a lot of potential, it can be a container of 360° panoramas zoomable in 3D with photographs, film clips and text, and most importantly... it is interactive, i.e. the user chooses what to see and how to see it, naturally in very high definition.

30 October - A day dedicated to the Panoramas along the route, Tatiana tells us the most evocative and important locations for the race, and we choose the best light and positions. We start from the terrace of Piazzale Michelangelo in Florence (one of the most fascinating places in the world) to get a splendid view of Florence before embarking on the actual route: Fiesole, Borgo San Lorenzo, Passo Colla, Marradi, Brisighella and Faenza. The good weather assists us for most of the day, we take panoramic views both day and night, the Virtual Tour 100 km del Passatore must be super.

5-15 November - At the headquarters of the 100 km of the Passatore, we examine the thousands of photos in the archives, from 1973 to the present day, choosing not only among the champions, but mainly among the male and female athletes whose participation has made the race a point of arrival for thousands of sportsmen and women. In addition, in the photographic history one can admire exhibits such as the first flyers from 1973 and the prizes... 100 bottles of wine... yes, those were other times!

20 Nov - 5 Dec - The actual construction of the Virtual Tour 100 km del Passatore, through the race numbers we search for the names of the athletes appearing in the photos, not all of whom have been identified: if anyone should recognise themselves, please contact us. The 360 hd panoramas follow the route and each has a dedicated photo gallery. At the bottom of the 360 hd Virtual Tour you have: on the left the button for the photo gallery, on the right the 'credits', the 'registration' link and the 'La Via della 100' link. The initial film is dedicated to the winners of the previous edition: the Hall of Fame.
